   FREE Meals 20/21 school year

At the direction of the USDA, the Food Service program has received funding to provide 1 FREE daily lunch and breakfast to students served, both at school and as a to go option. In addition, all community children (under the age of 18) will be offered the meal as a “pick up” option. The food service program is very excited to offer this service, to all our students and community children, at no cost to families through the end of the 20/21 school year.

Enhanced safety precautions

The District’s School Nutrition program is committed to providing healthy and safe school meals. All food service staff  completed updated food safety training as guided by the USDA and DPI regulations. Food safety is not something new to school meal programs, as they have been required to have an approved HACCP (food safety plan) that is updated yearly. Listed below are highlights of the enhanced safe food handling guidelines. Should you have further concerns please contact the school food service staff.

  1. Contactless service The updated policy includes NO students touching any common areas such as: eating utensils, terminal PIN pads, food items (including milk).

  2. Meals are served in a combination of small cohort groups and classrooms. Increasing both times and frequency of hand washing and surface sanitizing will be implemented.
