McFarland Compliments Lodi Football

"Good Morning....

I am just writing a short note to let you know how impressed I was with a young man on your football team. I am a parent of 3 boys from McFarland, with the youngest now a junior. I have been to A LOT of HS football games thru out the years and have never had a player from the other team thank me for coming out tonight to watch the game....especially after they just lost a "heartbreaker".

I was waiting with my oldest son after the game dressed in my McFarland gear, by the fence where the players leave the field. As he waited to congratulate his younger brother, the Lodi Team was meeting down by the goal post on that end of the field. Many Lodi players walked past us understandably dejected after the loss, but # 5 stopped and thanked us for coming out to watch the game tonight. We talked briefly and he then went on to join his teammates.

Usually we are notified when our students/children do something wrong, so I just thought I would drop of note appreciation and wish this young man and the team good luck.

Mary Engelhart"
