Eva and Alissa had great races finishing in 17:26 and 17:40 which was good enough for 41st and 50th. Chelsea finished in 18:11 and was followed by Jolee in 18:24 and Rachel who finished despite having an injured ankle in 19:30.

Dominique Wilson broke 18:00 for the first time ever and finished 29th in 17:57.7. He was followed by Tyler Pedracine 37th 18:12, Levi Kearney 60th 18:45, Sam Taylor 67th 19:02. Cade Clark 84th 19:44, John Joutras 86th 19:47 and Grant Robertson 118th in 22:41.

Instead of runnning a conservative race, Anna and Tyler both went out and challenged for an individual spot for as long as they could. Lodi should be very proud of them. "It is far better to try something great and fail: than to try to do nothing and succeed."

Conference Meet - Belleville  It was a blusterly day at Belleville which slowed the times but not the excitement at the 2011 Capitol North Conference meet. The varsity girls started things off and Anna Cramer was ready. She bounced back from a 20th place finish in the first meet to turn in a stellar race and finished 3rd. The top seven make up the 1st team all conference team. It was her third time making the team. She was second team her other year. Eva Riedesel finished 16th just missing second team. She was followed by Alissa Scales in 20th, Sydney Endres in 22nd, Chelsea Buchanan 24th, Jolee Wilson 30th and Rachel Porter 39th. Chelsea moved up 13 places from the first meet. The girls ran very well and finished ahead of state ranked Columbus and were just eight points behind state ranked Lake Mills. Their point total was 31 points better than the first race. Team scores - Poynette 64 Lakeside 69 Luther Prep 76 Lake Mills 77 Lodi 85 Columbus 113. Lakeside was the conference champs based on the two races.

The Lodi boys maintained their third place standing with a solid performance. Senior Tyler Pedracine made the first team all conference team by placing 5th. Dominique Wilson and Levi Kearney made the 2nd team by placing 10th and 12th. They were followed by Sam Taylor in 21st, Cade Clark 23rd, John Joutras 28th and Grant Robertson 36th. He was followed by Clayton Schubert in 20th, Jacob Wilson 30th, Brandon Steiner 35th, Sam Porter 36th, Cody Iverson 38th, Peter Gundeck 45th, Mitchell Endres 52nd and Keegan Thompson 55th.

In the girls race many girls stepped up to help make up for the loss of Eva (illness) but none more than Sydney Endres. After struggling at Fennimore, Sydney responded with her best race ever! She was 20th in a blistering time of 17:21. Anna Cramer was again Lodi's top finisher in 13th in a time of 16:49. Alissa Scales PR'd for the second meet in a row finishing 27th in 17:53. Cramer Wins Incredible Race!

In what could be described as one of the most exciting Lodi Invitational races ever, Anna Cramer fought off three competitors down the stretch to win the girl's division of the Lodi Invitational on Saturday. At the beginning of the race Sarah Hackbarth of Lakeside jumped to the lead with Anna right on her heels. Not to be out done, Natalie Bubolz of Lakeside and Rubi Rojas of Waterloo joined the battle as well. When all four of them came out of the woods within seconds of each other the crowd just went crazy! The lead changed hands several times but with about 300 meters Anna wrestled the lead away from the others by the slimmest of margins. Hackbarth then put on an furious kick down the stretch but the Lodi senior just would not be denied the championship in her last home meet! Thanks to all four girls for making the race so exciting.

As a team the girls took second place behind Lakeside. Eva was 15th, Sydney 18th, Chelsea 29th, Jolee 32nd, Alissa 37th and Rachel 45th. The Lodi harriers raced through hilly cow pasture in Fennimore and came away with first place in both the boy's and girl's large school divisions of the Fennimore Invitational! The boy's balanced attack easily out distanced runner up West Salem by over four minutes. Each runner ran seperately and the top five times were added together for team places.

In the girl's race however, Western Dubuque quickly jumped out to over a minute lead over the Blue Devils. Sydney Endres closed the gap a little in the four race and then Melissa Kolhagen out ran the Western Dubuque girl by one minute and 20 seconds in the number three race to give Lodi the lead. Western Dubuque battled back closing the gap to 10 seconds heading into the final race by winning the number two race. LODI RUNNERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

In a truly unforgettable meet the Lodi boy's and girl's took the lead in the conference standings with critical wins at Marshall. The boy's depth was too much for other Capitol North teams to contend with as they came away 31 points ahead of their nearest competitor. Michael Phillips led the way for Lodi finishing 3rd in 17:06. He was followed by Caden Miller 7th 17:26, Cade Clark 10th 17:49, Tyler Pedracine 11th 17:51, Quentin Taylor 12th 17:55, Jonny Gollmar 13th 17:56 and Courtlyn Garton 16th in 18:08. Team scores Lodi 43 Columbus 74 Poynette 75 Lakeside Lutheran 82 Lake Mills 93 Luther Prep 156.

While the boy's won easily the girl's race proved to be something entirely different. Lodi's top three ran very well as expected. Sydeney Endres gave a tremendous effort to put us in a good position but Lakeside and Luther Prep put all seven runners in before our 5th so it looked like Lodi had little chance of winning. Chelsea Buchanon kept working throughout the race. She finished 36th, one second in front of the 37th girl. When they read off the team scores and they said Prep was third with 65 points the Lodi runner's, parents and coaches were shocked. When they said Lakeside was second with 63 they were stunned and when they said Lodi was first with 62 points they were in a state of disbelief which turned in to elation. This was not just a Lodi girl's victory, it was a Lodi victory. Everyone who was there made a difference. There were also people who weren't there who had a tremendous impact on that race. People often say that every second counts and Chelsea beating that girl by a second was truly important. However the race was even closer than that. Annalise Cramer finished 2/10th's of a second ahead of the 6th place girl.

Mikey Bogdanske 1st 15:59, Annaliese Cramer 5th 16:33.4, Melissa Kohlhagen 7th 16:38, Sydney Endres 13th 17:27, Chesea Buchanan 19:07, 39th Shannon Grover 19:32 and Paige Nichols 42nd in 21:03.

Lodi 62 Lakeside Lutheran 63 Watertown Luther Prep 65 Poynette 86 Lake Mills 92 Columbus 120.

The boy's JV won the combined race of both the North and the South with 30 points to finish eight points ahead of New Glarus Monticello. Levi Kearney was second, Dominique Wilson 3rd, Keaton Shaw 4th and Sam Taylor 5th to lead the way.
